The 18 - 265 watt/panel Rensola array will fit on the back side of the house and face south for maximum energy production (and rebate). The array will include a 110v outlet that can be used in the event City power is off during the day. The system also comes with an on-line and smartphone app to check on production of the panels and efficiency. Payback period for the installation should be right around 5 years. With a life expectancy (and guarantee) of 25 years, the profit made (currently $0.128/ watt) should be substantial by the end of the life span of the equipment.

We expect the installation to begin as soon as the homeowners association approves the design/location. The City has already approved the installation and rebates once installed.

The Mueller subdivision has one of the highest percentages of solar installations in the country and the community is producing close to 2 mega-watts of electricity and is only 25% complete. (We also have the highest concentration of Chevy Volts in the US!)

We'll post installation photos and the final setup when work has been completed.

Our weather station is up and running on Weather Underground. It is listed as Mueller Airport/ KTXAUSTI235. Current conditions (every 5 seconds) at the house can be found on this page to the right or on Weather Underground.

Elsewhere, custom built-in cabinets are in the pre-production stage and will fill in our 14x12' wall in the family room and our wall in the upstairs living room. The family room piece will be unique. Also, there will be a custom master closet. We will post pictures when that work gets completed around the holidays, later this year.
