Good news - the kitchen back splash is up and it's right this time. Bad news - while the color tone is what we wanted, the bead board ceiling looks kind of blotchy. Possibly because (even though we asked) the painters failed to condition the wood before staining it...or perhaps because it's a softwood. No easy solution to this one.
