So close, but yet so far

It's been awhile since we've updated the blog - primarily because visible progress has been slow. The almost spectacular wood ceiling in the kitchen has been taken down and replaced - this time we'll just seal it and clear coat it. The color isn't what we wanted, but it beats living with blotches. We have our glass shower door up in the master, mirrors up, and the replaced guest vanity installed. The light fixture in the half bath was moved up (we're not sure why yet).  Outside we have landscaping completed with sprinkler systems. And we have a "street tree" in the parking strip.

So what is left? Well not that much BUT it takes time to get contractors to return to finish and repair. Next week we are hoping the painters will finish the painting indoors (missed spots, damage, corrections, etc...) The outside still needs a second coat of paint, caulking, etc... and the front door needs to be stained. Hopefully by the end of next week, the carpeting will be installed. We also need a gas meter so the furnace and gas appliances can be tested and functioning. Next the house needs to be cleaned and ready for City inspection. When that is done, all of the problems s/he finds plus anything we spot will need fixing. Also, once the inspection is done, we should get our 45 day notice for completion (it will take them that long to fix everything). We also need the back fenced moved back about 5' to give us some semblance of a backyard.

If delays continue, we might not close until June.

Here are a few new photos.
