March 15 Update

The Ides of March

We haven't been at the house in almost a week, so were a bit excited to get out and see what has happened. To start, appliances are in and they look great. Plumbing fixtures are installed in all but the problematic guest bath. Both full baths had the wrong countertops installed (apparently because 2 materials had the same name at the design center). The supplier no longer produces the ones we wanted,,so we're living with the one in the master and just changing out the upstairs one.  The attic insulation has been installed and we have a fence on the south and east (backyard) sides. We aren't particularly pleased with the placement of the back fence; we lost about 5 feet of backyard, so have requested a re-do.  Posts are in on the final side, facing our northerly neighbor.

So what's left you might ask? Well, lots of touch up - the guest bath tub is damaged and it remains to be seen how that will be repaired. The counter top in the guest bath needs replacing. A whole bunch of trim painting and touch up needs to be done inside and out. Landscaping needs to be done and the all important carpet for the master bedroom, stairways and entire second floor has yet to be done. There are also problems with the tops of several window casings (the reveals) being square in the family room. I'm sure we'll find other things along the way. We are still awaiting resolution on the kitchen ceiling.

In general, things looks great - it's coming along well - it looks like a house and we're hoping that in under 60 days it will be ours. They will let us know when closing is 45 days out.
